At Your Own Pace (AYOP) Description
AYOP Description -
Mrs. G’s "At Your Own Pace” Architecture* and Photography courses are designed to offer flexibility while maintaining structure for students working towards high school credit. These courses consist of eight modules, each focusing on a specific topic or skill. To ensure comprehensive understanding and mastery, students must complete each module before advancing to the next one.
The modules are accessible through Canvas, an online learning platform that allows students to engage with course materials, track progress, and submit assignments. Each module may include a combination of readings, assignments, quizzes, and discussions, all of which are designed to build a strong foundation in the subject matter.
Students may begin these courses at any time and have one year to complete them, offering ample time to work through the material at their own pace. This flexibility makes the program ideal for learners who must balance their studies with other commitments. However, students must complete all the modules in sequence before moving on to the final project. This final project serves as a culmination of everything learned throughout the course and provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding and skills.
Grading for the course is incorporated throughout the modules, with assessments and assignments being evaluated by the instructor. These grades contribute to the final grade for the course, which is recognized for high school credit through CLRC (Please Register through Classical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) if you want accrediated high school credit). This ensures that students receive both a rigorous and personalized learning experience while still meeting academic standards required for high school credit.
In summary, the "At Your Own Pace" courses with CLRC through Canvas provide students with the flexibility to work at their own speed within one year, ensuring they fully grasp each module before progressing to the next, culminating in a final project. Grading is included, and the course is structured to offer a meaningful academic experience for high school credit.
