Independent Study (IS) Course Description
The "Independent Study" courses offer a structured yet flexible approach to learning, with weekly deadlines to keep students on track while allowing them to work at their own pace. These courses follow the traditional school calendar, ensuring that students complete their work within a set timeframe, but do not meet live via Zoom. Assignments and projects are submitted on Padlet, giving students a platform to share their work and receive feedback. Students are expected to meet the weekly deadlines. (Please register through CLRC for courses offering official high school credit, as grades will be recorded on the CLRC Canvas Site.) This makes the program ideal for students who prefer self-directed learning without the need for scheduled online classes.
Each course includes weekly or bi-weekly assignments, readings, and projects, allowing students to explore the material in depth while maintaining consistent progress. Although there are no live sessions, Mrs. G. is available for feedback and support through the Padlet, ensuring students stay engaged and on track throughout the course.
