Advanced Architecture 1
"Form Follows Function - City Design"
(for those who have successfully completed the Intro to Arch Course).
Advanced Architecture 1 - City Design
Students studying the styles of different Architects in relation to City Design. Students design the "form" of a different type of building each lesson based on the style of the "Architect of the Lesson". The buildings that they design will eventually come together as a mini-city. This course requires a lot of model building. It is not as internet dependent, but the internet or the library will be used for research purposes similar to the "Intro to Arch" Course.
This nine lesson course is taken asynchronously through websites and emails. Students must fully complete each lesson before moving on the to the next lesson. The course may be taken over 9 or 18 weeks with due dates weekly or every other week. Schedules may be revised as necessary with parental permission, but deadlines are encouraged.
This course is highly individualized. Emailed reviews and grades provide students the opportunity to grow and excel according to their abilities. Students should expect to work on the course for 8 - 12 hours per lesson. Usually 1/2 high school credit is suggested (based on 90 hours of course work). The work in this course will provide significant work for college applications and AP Art portfolios.
TUITION:
TEACHER INTERACTIVE COURSE - $200/STUDENT
