This is an example of an eleven year old 's design. He did this with Minecraft, but many students use other mediums for this course such as paper, cardboard, clay, SketchUp and poster board.
It amazes me how much younger students can do if given the opportunity!
Beginning Architecture 2- Design a Home
for students ages 7-12
This the second course of the three part Beginning Architecture E-Course package
(no teacher interaction).
(This is also included in the first and second semesters of the Beginning Architecture Year long Zoom Course)
This EXCITING, INCREDIBLE NINE-LESSON course was designed especially for students ages 7-12 years old. Following Beginning Architecture - Part 1, we will continue using things like paper, popsicle sticks, straws, paper plates, pipe cleaners along with any available materials (legos, cardboard, wood etc.) or methods (CAD) that students prefer to design their own homes!. Each lesson we will concentrate on designing and personalizing a specific room of our homes. By the end of the course, students will have designed a home specific to their personal tastes . This course provides more specific architectural challenges for students who are interested in playing with and learning about architecture and some interior design, while still not quite ready for the rigor of the Introduction to Architecture Course.
This course is taken completely through websites.
This course is a lot of fun (even for moms and dads:)!
(Materials are not included).
Format for Beginning Architecture Courses:
1. Students receive the password protected link to the Lesson websites.
2. All information or links needed for the lesson and the assignments are on the Lesson site.
3. Students will access to the E-Courses as long as they need them.
